Adult Training Opportunities You'll
note how it says opportunities in the title and that's because that's
what these really are. There's not a lot of other places where you're
going to have the opportunity to share your wild camping experiences as
an opportunity to teach others, eat camp food that's worthy of culinary
awards, or learn skills that will keep you alive in the wild. It's your
training, you're going to get out what you put into it because the the
class doesn't end when the bell rings. Adult leaders learn quickly that
the classes here are just the foundation and the Venturers that we're trying
to mentor will always, always have something new up their sleeve. In order to be considered a fully "Trained" registered leader by the BSA an adult must complete the following:
Here are links to training information for adult leaders: BSA Required Training (Depending on Leadership Position) Venturing Youth Protection Training (VYPT) REQUIRED for all Adult Leaders. This
is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for all the parents/adults in the Crew. You don't need to be a registered leader with the
BSA to take the class and it's good information for everyone to have and
helps keep our kids safe. YPT is available online at the MyScouting webpage. Once you complete the course please send the completion certificate to our Training Committee Chair. Crew Committee Challenge (WS12) REQUIRED for all Committee members. This is a brand new course in 2014 and is only available in-person. The Instructor's Guide has been published if you'd like to read ahead before taking the course. The Denver Area Council training page lists the next available in-person course. This course does not appear to be offered very frequently so please enroll when you see it is available. Venturing Leader Specific Training (P21) REQUIRED for all Advisors and Associate Advisors. This
is an in-person course taught by BSA volunteers that have been specially
trained. This goes over the process of supporting youth leadership and Crew operation. To find a course in the Denver area please visit the Denver Area Council Upcoming Events website. Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (S11) REQUIRED for all Advisors and Associate Advisors. This
is a hands-on course that will teach practical outdoor skills that
adults need to lead Scouts on campouts. This is an overnight course and
you'll be camping out with your classmates. To find a course in Denver

is the E-Learning portal for all of Scouting. There you can find all
sorts of supplemental training for your Scouting journey as an Adult

Badge is the pinnacle of training for Scouting's Adult Volunteers. This
course is 6 days of training, usually broken into two 3 day weekend,
and will train you in skills and methods that are the foundation of
Scouting. This course has the power to change your life inside, and
